I decided to create a "title" for myself: "K2 Productions"

This took me a month to create, and yes, it used the metal shader that i "invented".

This character is titled "transformobot", this lil guy is gonna be the logo for "K2 Productions"

This render took 1 hour and 6 minutes to render, it took about 7 minutes to "fill the octree".

I used FSA to make the render high quality and almost flawless, i then fixed up the rgb curves after the render.

It was an interesting expierience to make this logo.

Cool but 640x512 is too low-res. (can't see the details)

I also want to make a transforming robot but never had time to make it... Maybe tomorrow...

unfortunatley theres a terminator problem that appears if i would render over 50% res. so unfortunatley i cant render over this resolution. (dang it!) , oh, and thanx for the "cool" :)

np, lol. I don't compliment easily, so don't mind. Criticizing is more fun :p

To fix the terminator problem, try to subdivide the polygons (subsurf... The rendering time would increase, though) and increase the "Sbias" value of the shader.

If it still shows at sublevel 6, add a second subsurf modifier :D

If catmull-clark does not subdivide things as you want it to, use simple subdiv + smooth modifier (it's also possible to set smooth to affect just a vertex group)

bevel sometimes work well, too (it depends)
:iconthemightycoolblender:
the polygons are subdivided, (about to a level of three)

the main problem happens after the computer has already tooken 6 minutes to fill-the-octree and is then calculating the occlusion.

i wonder (even a person who is "used to" blender may some time wonder), what does Sbias do?, i try to use it and it does almost nothing to the eye.

ps, love critisism!

I don't really know either, it didn't exist before as far as I remember.

I remember the "bias" value of buffer-shadowed spots affected the blurriness of the light border but I don't know about SBias, just that it's supposed to fix terminator. Couldn't find useful information about it...

there's also the Bias button that's supposed to fix terminator: [link]

oh! i made an error in wording, it wasnt a terminator problem, it was an application error, (you know, one of those problems were blender crashes before it starts rendering)
